I again chose to use the Some Kinda Wonderful paper pack using a couple of the Picture My Life (PML) cards for Challenge #45A at Between the Folds and combining it with MoJo Monday Sketch Challenge #494.  The colors are so bright and cheery, a great welcome or greeting card.

The background and panel and the sentiment panel were the PML cards from the paper pack...pretty much followed the sketch because the combination of colors were so bright and cheery.  The hello sentiment was cut down to include the two colors.  The banner was cut from Paper Fundamentals Lemon design paper and the Scribble circle die cut was just perfect and cut from the same Paper Fundamentals.

Cute As a Button - AHSC #209

My card this week as Design Team Member for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #209. Join this challenge...you have until Sunday, April 30rd to enter your project.

The design team reveal for this sketch will be on Wednesday, so be sure to stop by to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team and other entrant inspirations for this challenge...and stop by every Monday for new sketches. Don't wait for the DT post to create your project...show us up with your artwork.

Had just purchased the scalloped die and it was very similar to the sketch...this was my first cut.  Then I added the background paper and layered.  Selected another design sheet from the same packet for the panel and placed a couple of the diecuts from the Georgia Complements.  Also in the complements were transparent buttons which were ideal so it would not cover the cute elephant design paper.

Used zip strips from the paper pack on the inside bottom edge of the card.

Bugs are creatures in my book so decided to use the bug design paper from Dreamin' Big. Have often used the pretty floral on the back side.  A little over a week ago I tried the bug side for a recent birthday card for one of my grandsons using the MoJo Monday sketch challenge...however, was not happy with it and ended up putting it in my stash for maybe some time later.

Well, this time was the later...I just needed to do a little makeover. The focal point was changed from a sentiment to the cute bugs and a different sentiment for this creatures challenge...and this change made a big difference. It seemed to soften up the background paper and your eye was drawn to the focal point.  I bee happy now.

Hello - Color Dare #240 (Cinco de Mayo)

Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #240: This week’s colors shown in the Photo are from Some Kinda Wonderful Paper Pack - Glacier, Lemon, Pacifica, Raspberry, Whisper, Willow, White Daisy and Black (Use at least 4 of these colors).  Love all the colors and the design papers so not a difficult color challenge if you have the paper pack.

We encourage you to use CTMH products; however you may use any products to participate using closest to colors or paper packet ... join in the fun.

You don't need a blog to submit your entry...if you are a member of Pinterest you can set up a Folder and link your entry to our Challenge. You have until Thursday, April 27th to enter your project. Please hop on by to see the DT member inspirations and other entrants.

If you do share a Some Kinda Wonderful project with us you may also share it in these two other Close to My Heart themed challenges:

The paper I liked the least in this paper pack has turned out to be one of my favorites...first a theatre, then the colorful stamped flowers, and now an Arizona Cactus Bed with Quail. And I've had suggestions that the design looks like popsicles and tombstones...so you'll know what's next.

Started out selecting a PML card from the packet and tried to work around just that....but that crazy design paper was calling to me...so I cut around several of the colored cacti and adhered it to one of the other design papers.  Decided to cut the Hello PML card and adhered to the corner...that was going to be my finished card.

I've been wanting to use the quail stamp as well...so I dug out the grey ones that I had made for another card (because that's the color of quail, plain ole grey).  Well they looked kinda boring, so back to my daughter's advice on paper crafting..."There are no rules, you can do whatever you want in paper crafting".  Soooo...stamped a family in pacifica ink and started coloring with the many pretty colors in the paper pack.

Then I got to thinking about the cactus again and decided to stamp three cacti and then put faces on them.  Cinco de Mayo is coming up soon, which is a big celebration here in Arizona, so I put a Mexican hat on the one, but couldn't stop there.  Stamped a couple of flowers, colored and then put on the two other cactus.

Around this time of year we have a family of Quail that nest in our back yard, or you can see them walk across the golfing greens as mother strides along slowly, but the little ones feet go a mile a minute to keep up. They have 8-10 babies following them.

On the inside added a die-cut cactus that I had in my stash and another Mexican Hat, and left the sentiment inside open to any occasion "Party-Cinco de Mayo" but I will be using for a May 5th "Birthday Card".

Love - AHSC #208

My card this week as Design Team Member for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #207. Join this challenge...you have until Sunday, April 23rd to enter your project.

The design team reveal for this sketch will be on Wednesday, so be sure to stop by to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team and other entrant inspirations for this challenge...and stop by every Monday for new sketches.  Don't wait for the DT post to create your project...show us up with your artwork.

The PML card that was chosen for the sentiment did not fit in the oval so I turned the sketch so the sentiment would fit in the oval sideways.

Trying to use up some of my stash before the new papers come out and this particular set had ordered two packets because it was a favorite of mine.

Pretty much followed the sketch but instead of a bow chose a bouquet and feathers from the complements packet.

The inside of the card a fussy-cut of a bouquet from the PML card and then added the arrows from the Complements Packet. I usually use a sentiment that can adapt to any occasion, and the personal note on the inside will determine the occasion.

Also submitted to the following Challenges:
Seize the Birthday "Twist: 2 Design Papers"  The sentiment was a PML Card and the diagonal strip was a zip strip, so you could say it has two Design Papers Only, or Not.

Well I dug out this paper pack again and used the same design paper; but this time I didn't make it into a theater (Check here to see previous card and design paper).  This card gave that design paper another whole look...all the flowers and birds were stamped on the design paper, fussy-cut, curled and added to card with 3D thin foam tape.

Happy Easter Egg Baskets

I don't color Easter Eggs or make baskets any more...I leave it up to each of the families.  However, I will color and make a basket to hold a Gift Card.

While I'm in the Kitchen preparing for Easter Dinner, I am running back and forth to my Scrapbook Room so that I can make a Gift Card Holder for each of the Family coming to dinner tonight. Picked a simple die cut, modified the cuts and was done within a couple hours...not bad.

Used a lot of my glitter paper for the egg decoration and then a paper with a light blue weave on one side and floral on the other side...something I have had for three years at least.  On the one side I cut a full egg shape and had the Cricut print the names, and then used it for the pocket in the back.  Stamped, used my Brother Scan and Cut, colored and then adhered to the pocket.  Added the Gift card.

Easter Dinner was enjoyed by all...Ham, Au Gratin Potatoes, Green Been Casserole, Green Salad and Dinner Rolls and Ice cream Cake for desert, all enjoyed their Easter Egg Basket which will be enjoyed at a later time.

Together - Color Dare #239

Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge #239: This week’s colors are Slate, Canary, Eggplant and White Daisy (All and Only). We encourage you to use CTMH products; however you may use any products to participate using closest to colors ... join in the fun.

You don't need a blog to submit your entry...if you are a member of Pinterest you can set up a Folder and link your entry to our Challenge. You have until Thursday, April 20th to enter your project. Please hop on by to see the DT member inspirations and other entrants.

This color challenge is definitely a challenge for me...not comfortable with the slate color...certainly not very springy.  Finally decided on a flower that was a purple and yellow...either an iris or pansy  Off to Cricut Design Space...the Flower Market . . . Perfect iris cut.

First went to my Inventory spreadsheet to see what paper packs had Eggplant...other than Paper Fundamentals there was only one paper pack with that color and I chose that to give some texture to the flower and the canary yellow was not difficult because it's in several paper packs.

Cut design papers for the flower and the slate for the stem.  Didn't particularly care for the grey stem ... so cut another stem with the same yellow design paper, layered the pieces using the slate piece as a shadow for the stem.  Cut another slate piece for the flower and layered also as a shadow.  Layering the flower and stem with the slate for a shadow met the challenge of using slate (see photo below).  Tried to include a slate frame but that just didn't give me the result I wanted either so used cardstock in the two primary colors.

On the inside added a strip along the border of canary design paper.

Together Is the Best Place to Be

Welcome to the very first Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge ever! I am particularly fond of this Challenge because my daughter has put it together and hope that some of my followers will participate in this challenge.

The first challenge is using the Close to My Heart Paper Pack "Some Kinda Wonderful" or this color pallet as inspiration. This challenge will be here for the full month of April. Check out the Three Amigo's Blop Hop and Challenge, leave a little love, and don't be shy about entering a project.

Well my decision for entering into this Challenge wasn't too difficult because I happen to have "Some Kinda Wonderful" Paper Pack ...and when I saw the Design Team's inspiration I thought I can do this.  Wanted to challenge myself to the 2nd design sheet and had no idea what I was going to do with it, however cut the background panel so that I would commit to it.

Looking at my other choices in the Pack one of the PML cards was adorable and appealed to me. Many times have trouble working with PML cards but it was too cute to pass up.  Of course when placing the card on my background, the background disappeared ... a stamped sentiment on that PML card and I would have been done ... again reminded myself ... no, no you're committed, don't back away.  I didn't and here's my finished card.

Cut the PML card around the adorable critters and added a zip strip which reminded me of lights along a stage and adhered to bottom of card.  Knew where my theme was going so went to Cricut and found a theater ticket, added text in cricut using the sentiment from a stamp set and ahered with 3D thin tape.  Something missing ... popcorn of course, so went back to Cricut wherein I purchased popcorn and modified the box.  Put a little butter (yellow) on the popcorn and added liquid glass.

Tu Tu Cute - H2H April - Wk 2

Team Ruby - Hostess Brandi
April Week #1 "Whimsy"

Could be anything you find to be whimsical or funny, it could also be the CTMH Whimsy color palette or paper pack. Please join us this week and other challenges in April... Remember you have all month to create to be eligible for recognition as one of the Top 10 "Darlings".

AND if you create a project for each challenge in the month of April, you will earn a badge as an H2H Addict for Perfect Attendance.

For additional inspiration on this Challenge hop on by to see what other Design Team members have created.  Hope this gives  you some inspiration and enthusiasm to link your artwork as a participant ... we look forward to your creativity.

This card was made using MoJo Sketch Challenge #491, but it will not be submitted because challenge will have been closed when this is published.  For the Whimsy, I chose a retired Paper Pack which contained a lot of the "Whimsy" colors and a whimsical stamp "Safari Ballet"...How whimsy can you get?

Pretty much followed the Sketch, added borders around each of the pieces in Sweet Leaf cardstock and adhered panels to background paper.   On the banner actually stamped sentiment before adhering that piece to card.

Couldn't decide which image to use so stamped, layered and colored both.  After a half hour trying to decide which one to use, as well as again seeking my husband's help, which was no help...I made an executive decision.  Being the hippo alone was too much pink, the giraffe alone was too skinny and yellow...so why not both?  Done.
