SpongeBob "The Road Song"

I was trying to decide on how to approach "Life is a Highway" Challenge on Heart2Heart.  My youngest Grandchild was over and she was sitting at the desk coloring while I was contemplating what I would do for this Challenge.  I re-read the paragraph on this challenge where it said "...you may even be inspired by the song..."; so I asked her if she knew a song about a highway or road trip and she responded and said I know one.  She immediately went to her ipod and pulled up the song on You-Tube, SpongeBob's "On the Road" song.  Click on the song title to be entertained by this song...it's so catchy you will probably listen to it a second time.  So my card came to life.

Now we are off "On the Road" for two or three weeks, so no challenges.  However you will see me as a Guest Designer on Heart to Heart for the month of August.  And you can bet I will be singing this song along the way because we have 16 hours of travel plus.

One Shot in a Minion

This is a card created from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #118, combined with the ColorMyHeart Color Dare Challenge 152, and meeting the Heart2Heart Theme Challenge of "Life is Good".  The Minion is from an image of Kevin who loves golfing from Colouring Page for Kids and sized for the card.  Kevin was colored with ShinHan alcohol-base pens, and then fussy-cut and placed on card with 3D Thin Foam Tape.  The golf ball and tee were cut from Cricut Design Space and raised on 3D Foam Tape, and sentiment added.  The Sentiment was text I created on Cricut Design Space and then printed with a Black Cricut Thin Point Pen.

Fun in the Sun - Fishies

This is a second entry for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #117 combined with the ColorMyHeart Color Dare #151.  I wanted to do something different than using hexagons so I came up with some Fishies swimming and blowing bubbles while the sun rises.  All images were either stamps and/or fussy-cut design paper, stamps colored and placed in position with 3D Thin Foam Tape.  Liquid Glass was added to the bubbles and star fish and small black pearls used for the eyes of the fishies.  Clear Wink of Stella was added to the sun.

Bee Happy

Used the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #117 and combined it with the ColorMyHeart Color Dare #151.  I love working with hexagons so decided to go with the exact pattern in the Sketch. Rather than stamping the hexagons, I used the CTMH Fundamental Papers for each of the colors in the Challenge and cut them using Cricut Design Space modifying the size.  The hexagons were placed on card and raised with 3D Thin Foam Tape on all except the sorbet honeycomb which I used the regular Foam Tape giving those another level. Stamped several bees, colored the bees in unconventional lagoon (because anything goes in scrapping or was it because there was no yellow in the color challenge) fussy-cut, added liquid glass on body and clear Wink of Stella on the wings and placed on each sorbet honeycomb.  Added Sentiment from Bugaboo Digi Stamps, and cut three hexagons out of the Lagoon honeycombs and placed on upper right-hand corner of card and added liquid glass to the center of each for an embellishment.

Minion Happy Birthday

This News Feed on my Facebook page caught my attention, and so I made a card for Taliq. I am sending this card to some challenges and hope anyone that views this card will make and send a card to Taliq.

"Tanisha Davis has only one wish this year — and that is to make her son, Taliq, feel really special when he turns 10 on July 22. So she's calling upon the kindness of strangers to send him birthdays cards in hopes that they will encourage him during his battle with cancer."  Click on Taliq above for more information or go to the bottom of this post to find out more...

Christmas in July

Using Sweet Sketch Wednesday #2-61, I made a Card using The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge July 14, 2015 with a Twist "Christmas in July".  As you can see the colors were all very pastel and reminded me of Easter colors.  You had to select at least three of the five colors but I selected to use them all  My two favorite holidays represented in one card...so what's not better than an East Bunny Christmas Card...a great toddler's 1st Christmas Card.

I found a freebie at the Digi Stamp Boutique, uk "Christmas Bently," just what I wanted.  Printed out Bently, colored with watercolor pencils and fussy-cut.  The Tree was a die cut using Cricut Design Space, the presents were stamped in color and fussy cut.  The flowers on the tree were from left-overs I had from a wedding card. Bunny, Tree and Presents were adhered with 3D Foam Tape. Sentiment stamped on Background cardstock.  On the Sketch I selected not to use the Ribbon and flower down the side of the card because it didn't really need it with the Bunny positioned in that corner.

Oh So Happy

This card was made using Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #116 combined with the ColorMyHeart Color Dare Challenge #150 .

The Rose/Leaves were stamped, colored with Shin-Han Markers, fussy-cut, added Clear Wink of Stella and adhered with 3D Thin Foam Tape for dimension. The leaves were curled on the tips. The Decorative Border was Paper Fundamentals "Slate", fussy-cut for the scalloped edges and added green color to center of each scallop. Embellishments added to Corners, and Sentiment  on Decorative Border.

I had experimented with stamping this rose several times, not with much success; however, think I finally figured out how to get the rose to look like a rose. Usually tried different shades for the each layered stamp, but decided to use only the one color and put the first coat on lightly, and then heavily coat the stamp for the second layer.  I have a variety of colors in my stash, and who knows may show up in another card.

Friendship Makes Life Colorful

This is a Friendship Card using Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #115 using the Colorful inspiration picture from The Outlawz - Tuesday Color Challenge.    All pieces on this card are made from the CTMH Paperpak "Taste of Summer."  Instead of using the stamp to fill in the flowers with color, all flowers were stamped with black ink on the Design paper, fussy-cut and then layered with 3D Thin Foam Tape onto the background design paper.  The Bands are the Zip Strip from the same paperpak.  The leaves were cut from Cricut Design Space.  Small Flowers were added across the Zip Strip for the scalloped border and a larger flower placed on the Zip Strips instead of a bow. Sentiment stamped on background paper with gypsy ink.

Magic Follow Your Dreams

This Magic Color Card is a combined Challenge with the Sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #114 and the color challenge from The Outlawz Tuesday Color Challenge - June 30, 2015, with twist of fiber.  Please stop by these challenges to see the Design Team's inpirations of these challenges.

Watched a tutorial on a Magic Slide Card and decided this would be a good focal point for a card, and simply modified to incorporate it into my card without the added bulk of cardstock...it was challenging but accomplished what I wanted.

Magic Frame for Adding to a Card.  Just cut a panel 8 1/16", scored at 4" and scored at 4 1/8" for the bottom closure of frame, and on the top 4" cut an inner frame leaving 1/2" on each side.  Then fold at the 4" and at the 4 1/8" for the bottom of frame.  I did not adhere to the card until I finished all my stamping on the acetate and a blank card, matched up to each other...the card and acetate panels should be smaller. I followed the general instruction at this tutorial Christina Griffiths and did my own modification for adhering to card. There are many other tutorials on this card as a stand-a-lone...great ideas.
