Picture Perfect - H2H January 3rd Week

My first thought of the Heart2Heart theme was photographs which usually mean a scrapbook page.  Many of my photos are family vacations and it was a lot easier to provide everyone with a copy using Snapfish then to do four sets of scrapbook pages...something my daughter might do.

Going through my unfinished projects came across some photos of my youngest grand-daughter and they were "picture perfect".  My dilemma of what I was going to do for this theme was over...a birthday card gift for my grand-daughter with photos taken 8 years ago...I thought she would enjoy them.

I have done this photo album before but decided to shortened the number of panels to accommodate a couple pictures...this was a fun project to put together using the very colorful and whimsical design papers from "Make Waves".  This was inside of my finished product however below are other photos to show the front and back covers of the album.

Team B - Hostess:  Alyson
Please hop on by H2H to view the beautiful inspiration from our DT, and join us in this Challenge.  You have all month to create and submit.  Check out the first two challenges and join them too...earn a badge for Perfect Attendance if you create a card for each weekly theme during that month.

The first photo is the front of the album using a ribbon to keep the album closed.  The second photo is where a personal note will be added.

The photo below will slide under the ribbon on the back panel because it's adorable. The photo is our grand-daughter working out by our pool with her Aunt Lisa (aka: bzscrapper66)  I added "The End" on the photo for my blog, but the photo will just be under the ribbon for her to enjoy as a memory and keepsake.

Rose - Color Dare #275

Close to My Heart/Color Dare Challenge #275 ... Love the color of Bashful and it's easy to select a beautiful rose as my focal point using the Fern color for the leaves as my banners in the Tuesday Morning Sketch #435.  The rose was cut using the front and back of the Bashful for contrast and White Daisy cardstock for layering, attached to panel of Heather design paper with thin foam sheet and glitter applied to rose.  Leaves were cut with a design paper from Paper Fundamentals "Fern", layered with White Daisy cardstock, adhered under the rose and glitter applied.  For embellishment added three Gold Glitter Gems to finish it off.  Did not use a sentiment on the front so that it can be used as an all occasion card to be determined in the future for either a birthday, thank you or sympathy card.

Please stop by and view the DT's inspiration for both of these challenges...and the Color Dare Challenge will be open for (2) weeks, and don't forget to also view the previous challenge which is open until next week.

Cute As A Button - AHSC #246

For this type of sketch I'll usually go to my design paper zip strips to see what would inspire me; but instead decided to go through some of my border dies and chose some button dies. I knew what my theme was "cute as a button" and all I needed was some pretty colorful paper and colors that would fit a girl or a boy.  Some of the buttons cut off of the border I used as additional embellishments in the bottom r-h corner.

I didn't have a stamp for the sentiment so went to Design Space and found exactly what I needed, layered it and placed on the same paper as my background paper.

I was pleased and thought my card turned out as "Cute as a Button"

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Love to see you at this challenge...you have until Sunday, December 31st to enter your project.

The design team reveal for this sketch will be on Wednesday, so be sure to stop by to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team and other entrant inspirations for this challenge.

Don't wait for the DT post to create your project...show us up with your artwork and stop by every Monday for new sketches.

On the inside of the card I used one of the button borders cut in the same as my background design paper.

Grey Skies are Gonna Clear Up "Spring Has Sprung" - H2H - Jan 2018 Wk #2

This week I am the Hostess for this week's Challenge "Winter Blues". My inspiration came from these words of wisdom "Let us Love Winter, for it is the Spring of Genius". Since living in Arizona Winter Blues have not been tough and I can't complain about cold and snow; however, I do miss the spring flowers back East after a long Winter Blues.

Maybe you have the Winter Blue as cold and snow sets in, or maybe your Winter Blues are a favorite swimsuit (for our friends in the Southern Hemisphere)! Or maybe it's a gorgeous color scheme! However you interpret this Challenge, we're sure you won't leave us feeling BLUE.

Remember that you have all month to play along with all of our January challenges (with links in the sidebar at right). Creating in your happy space can certainly beat the Winter Blues!  Be sure to join us and check out the other Design Team members and their inspiration base on this theme.

Finished Card fits into a 5" square envelope and Card easily opens up to a Pop-Up Box full of Spring flowers, not here in Arizona, but on the East Coast...so many memories of my Mom and Dad's gardens around our home.

Love - Color Dare #274

A few die cuts, selection of papers and cardstock and my card was completed.  The Floral Die was cut using Glacier cardstock and Bashful Glitter paper.  The hearts border was die cut on each side of design paper from Fundamental Papers "Charcoal", floral panel was framed with Bashful cardstock and then layered on the Glacier background with thin foam sheet for a little dimension.  A "Love" sentiment was die cut using Glacier, layered and adhered to floral panel.

NEW RULES FOR 2018

Black and White Daisy may be used freely with all Challenges (except those that say "No Black" or "No White".)

We will be having fewer colors in each challenge--just 3--In previous years we challenged you with up to 10 colors!

You will have 2 weeks to link up your creation! We will be posting a new challenge every week so there will be overlapping challenges.

For the last challenge of the month we will have a "Tic-Tac-Toe" board where you can choose 3 colors you want to create with.

You may enter our challenges by posting a direct link to your blog post, or if you don't, you can link from an Online Gallery such as Splitcoast Stampers, Instagram, Facebook, or Pinterest sites.

On the inside of the card, I used one of the stamps for the sentiment and the border edge from The January Word Puzzle using Glacier ink.

Thank You - H2H Jan 2018 - Week 1

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE

Heart2Heart Challenges - Team B - Hostess:  Haley and theme "Something NEW".  I chose to use a variety of the design papers and one of the PML cards from the NEW CTMH paper pack "Chelsea Gardens".  Also had recently purchased some NEW butterfly embellishments which had not yet found a home.  Liking the change from so many Christmas cards and choosing a springy looking thank you card.  A thank you to all of you that follow my blog and your complimentary comments from 2017, and hope you continue to join me and our Team in 2018.

Panels were cut with the stitched rectangle frames, and the PML card in the middle was adhered with 3D thin foam strips behind the Sprinkler can and then frame adhered to the sides.  Added a butterfly and die cut the sentiment two times for layering.

Welcome to the first challenge of 2018! Our theme is "Something New".  Try something NEW with this challenge for the NEW Year, or bust out a NEW Product you've been dying to use!  Maybe have a NEW baby or want to share a NEW Year's Tradition.  What's NEW with you?

You have until the end of the month to create any of the January Challenges to be eligible for recognition as one of the Top 10 "Darlings"... AND if you create a project for each challenge in the month of January you will earn a badge as an H2H Addict for Perfect Attendance.

For additional inspiration on these Challenges hop on by to see what other Design Team members have created and join in the fun. Hope this gives you some inspiration and enthusiasm to link your artwork as a participant ... we look forward to your creativity.

Tree Ornament Money Gifts

My plan was to make a money gift card for two of my Grandsons, but decided to do some Origami using money.  Found a tutorial from Jenny Chan for a flower/star using three $1 bills and  a tutorial also from Jenny Chan for a guitar  using one $1 bill.  They were hung on our Christmas tree next to an ornament that had a picture of each of them as a tag for their gift.  Of course, I didn't use $1 bills for these so I wanted to make them work for there gift.  Told the boys that there gift was somewhere in the living room but they had to find it, giving them clues that they were not in any drawers and they were in plain sight...believe it or not it took them about 15-20 minutes before they found them.  The only other person that knew where they were put was my husband.  What a mistake that was...he can't keep secrets.  Kept him quiet as long as I could until he sang "Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree".  I can't imagine how long it would have taken them if they hadn't gotten that clue.

They were quite proud of my origami ornaments and proudly said they didn't want to take them apart...well I was pretty sure once they got them back home they would be taken apart and was sure it wouldn't take them as long as it did to find them, nor the hours I spent on them.  The flower/star ornament went together pretty fast, but there were a lot of stops and playbacks in the tutorial for the guitar.  My time was well spent and worth it to see them trying to find them, and there were times the ornaments were just inches away from their nose.

Merry Everything - AHSC #244

Instead of baking Christmas Cookies for my neighbors this year I decided to make a gift box and put a variety of some of my hand-made cards inside.  Here are three of the boxes that I made, and the rest are duplicates of these.  Luckily most of my cards have a card base and decorated on the inside so all I need to do is put my handmade signature on the back of each card, and hope they appreciate and have recipients for these cards.

The design papers used were CTMH White Pines, a retired paper pack.  Had purchased another packet after the holidays and have periodically used during the last couple of years; however, after making (7) gift boxes it has pretty much depleted my supply, except for zip strips...and I will find a way to use them.  Because my cards have a lot of layering I was only able to squeeze in 8-9 cards with envelopes.  The Box depth is 1 1/4".

I did make some cookies for our Family and our next door neighbor because she already has a good stash of cards...anise sugar cutouts and almond butter cookies.
